Little's Man's Comment on the Day

In Little Man's own words, "Look! It's me and the church guy!" Way funny.

Baby Girl's Baptism

Yesterday was baby girl's baptism. It was beautiful. It was actually done as part of the mass and I loved it. Little man's was private and after mass. It was special too, but there was just something about sharing it with everyone at mass last night. Plus we had tons of family and friends there and that made it all the more special. I love the way the oil smells. Father blessed her head last and I can hardly bear to wash it today. I think it has a hint of a cinnamon smell. She did so well. No crying at all. I think it is just such a wonderful feeling when your child is baptized and receives that special grace. Her Godparents gave her the special white baptismal gown as their present. It is so beautiful and delicate. I think I might get a photo done professionally of her in it. I was going to get some done next week anyway, so why not. She also had my baptismal blanket with her. Little man also used it at his baptism four years ago this October. He is getting so big! I can hardly take it... Then we had a great party afterwards. It was simple and everyone had so much fun. I even made baby girl's cake myself with the help of my awesome sister-in-law! First time I ever made a cake like that for a special occasion. I've always been the one to go out and buy it already made. I can't tell you how proud I was to have it turn out so well and delicious. I think I will never buy a store cake again for a special day. Father gave us some great ideas for keeping a child's baptism day special always... I think they are worth sharing. First have the Godparents always send a card on the baptism anniversay to help the child feel special. Then celebrate the day in a simple way each year. Such as, have a special plate (such as one that say's CELEBRATE-I've seen it in the Pam.pered C.hef catalog) and let the child pick what's for dinner that night, since it's the anniversay of their special day. I think both are wonderful ideas and traditions to start. Simple, fun little things to keep their faith special and close to their hearts always.

Splash Park Fun

We waited way too long this summer to go to the splash park! It is so fun and free!!! Plus I love their little picnic area and the playground right beside it. Little man has been two days in a row. He loves it! Couldn't tell that, could ya? He hasn't mentioned the pool all weekend. I think he forgot it even exists... Sure wish I could go to the pool! Next Thursday is my post baby follow-up. I hope I get released to swim before summer is over.

Monday

Baby girl has an appointment with a specialist on Monday for her breathing issue. Please keep us in your prayers. At times she seems to get better and other days I think she struggles a bit. I just wish it would get better sooner than later. Cold and flu season scares the you know what out of me. She just can't get sick at all. It would be bad.
On a side note, I've been praying very diligently about something. I feel so confused as to what God's plan is for me as a mother. I've been reading all kinds of books about creating a domestic church within one's home, finding grace as a mother and such. I even joined a study at church called Women of Grace. It starts next month. Am I supposed to be home more, stay where I am, find something more flexible? What exactly am I to do? I feel like God is calling me to something very different but I can't figure out how to get there exactly. I've always been such a control freak where my job is concerned. Why can't I let go? Why am I so afraid of the unknown? I crave a simpler life... How does one get to that and still keep the family afloat financially? I feel stressed out by all of this running through my head constantly. Especially with my back to work date looming in front of me. I wish I could snap my fingers and it would all be figured out and I'd be at peace.

Too Cute!

I love my Moby!!

Here's baby girl in the Moby! I love this thing. Thanks Beth for showing me how to correctly use it. I'm even half way okay with posting a picture of myself. I usually hate pictures of myself. However, I've lost 30 lbs since baby girl was born and I'm feeling great! I weigh less than when I got pregnant. I actually gained very little with her. I think I lost as I gained baby weight! Plus I had healthier cravings this time around. Here's to keeping the weight coming off! I'm really going to try to keep to the PCOS diet and this time around. I didn't after little man and I paid for it badly!
